Peanut was adopted today!

Brutus was also adopted!

Winter was adopted!

Our walking crisis is somewhat averted, but we could still use an afternoon walker or two for the balance of the week.
Please help!  The weather is getting nicer every day. The dogs would really appreciate time out of their cages.

Tuesday's Quick Notes, from Dave:

Surgery today for Mocha and Mallory.

Tank has a broken/chipped nail, rear right paw, didn't give him any problem walking, but be aware of it. He was headed to the back for treatment at noon when we all left.

Today's lineup:  2-Roxy, 3- Leroy 4-Tank 5-Babs 6- Winter  7- Bo,  meet and greet, Brutus, and Peanut .

Good work Janice and Paula. Lots of walks, everyone had a chance or two or three, and I finished up the day with a real good one with Sophie, a nice Boxer girl.

Tank is better and better with the harness lead; use it, hook him up quick, get moving, and no problem, good day all around.

If anyone has an old steel rake to rake the runs' gravel, please bring it to the shelter.  Thanks.

Dave

Winter, still carrying the same toy

Dog Walking Schedule:

The minimum number of walkers needed by 9:00 a.m. is two in order to handle the task of getting dogs out for their first morning walk.

Volunteers are really needed early in the morning, 9:00 a.m. every day!  Even if   you can only help for a half hour or an hour, it would help.
The dogs are color coded.  New volunteers may NOT walk Red dogs.  Please pay attention to the color coding and the cage cards.  Red walkers' names in red type.
***************************
Important:  Please do not sign up for a shift if you aren't sure you can make it!  Other volunteers come in if there isn't enough coverage.  Some people have signed up for shifts and have been either late or not shown up at all.  We really need at least two people early in the morning--9:00--to get everyone out.

*Please try to notify me of your walking plans by Sunday night each week.
If you don't know your availability a week in advance and see we need help the next day, just send me an e-mail by 10 p.m. the night before, and I will put you on the schedule and notify the shelter.

Maximum number of walkers in the morning is 6 at one time, 4 in the afternoon.
Please make sure no dogs are left outside or in the meet-and-greet room when the last volunteer leaves.

REMINDER:  Every Tuesday is surgery day.  Find out who is having surgery when you come to walk the dogs.

**KITTEN FOSTERS NEEDED ASAP**

We are in need of fosters for our Bottle Baby kittens!

It's that time of the year again.  We need willing fosters who
can handle a litter of bottle babies, which require round-the-clock feeding. Yes, this means night time as well! We supply all the necessities, including a cage. Compensation will be given for your loving time and devotion.

We also need regular kitten fosters, as well, for a maximum of three kittens. Please contact Susan at pink49puffer@inbox.com if you would like to help us during this time! Thank you so much!

KITTEN FOSTERS NEEDED

If interested in helping out, please contact the shelter at socaf@ochd.org.
From Susan:

To all volunteers who wish to socialize with the cats when I am not there, PLEASE take only one cat out at a time.  Cats that should not be taken out have an X with a circle around the X.  These cats need time to adjust to the shelter.
Thank You, Susan
